January 2026 – CEO Change
After five and a half years at the head of NatureRe, our CEO, Daniel Pfeifer, is stepping into a new leadership capacity on the company’s Board of Directors. Since building the company, his vision has anchored our strategic path, shaping NatureRe’s long-term trajectory while establishing a strong operational foundation. Moving to the Board marks a natural progression, allowing him focus on governance and strategic oversight.
As part of this transition, we are pleased to announce that Destin Whitehurst will be stepping into the role of CEO. Having previously served as our Head of Carbon Investments, Destin brings a rare combination of expertise spanning carbon markets, programme management, and finance to guide NatureRe into its next phase of growth. We look forward to this new chapter as our incoming and outgoing leadership continue to advance NatureRe’s mission, to restore nature at scale.
January 2026 – Nespresso Partnership
NatureRe announced a partnership with Nespresso and its innovation team, marked by a catalytic investment into high-integrity carbon and biodiversity contributions generated by NatureRe’s Antioquia project in Colombia. The collaboration represents Nespresso’s first investment of its kind, showing how landscape restoration aligned with value chains strengthens agricultural ecosystem resilience while delivering climate, nature, and social benefits.
